Language Arts for the 2 Year Old (Chinese)

When examining communication and language development, the age of the child is taken into account along the following age groupings:

• Infant
• Mobile infant
• Toddler
• Two year old

Further, communication and language development is examined with the interwoven dynamic of neuro-language development, and social and emotional
development. The family is involved in discussions regarding the individual child’s emerging language exhibited while at the center. Strategies to support the child at home in communication and in verbal language development are shared. Issues regarding the language spoken in the family and the community are discussed with the family.
Written information regarding language acquisition is made available to the family.
