The manual moves through linear counting to one thousand and into the Decimal System. Each concept is presented with a concrete material first, then its name, and then the written numeral. The memorization chapter uses strip boards, bead bars, bead boards, charts, oral games, snake games, and story problems to bring the child to recall of the facts. These activities also introduce the commutative law, the essential combinations, and the powers of numbers.
