Geology is the study of Earth; the science that examines Earth, its form and composition, and the changes which it has undergone and is undergoing.
Geologists employ mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and geography to aid them in their study of Earth. Different aspects of Earth are studied such as volcanology, sedimentology, hydrogeology, glacial geology, structural geology,
minerology, paleontology, etc.
In this manual, we will examine some of the processes that shaped Earth as we know it today. We will also examine the processes that have shaped Earth in the past such as: life, rocks and minerals, weathering and erosion, mass wasting, the work of water, glaciers, deserts, earthquakes, plate tectonics, oceans and mountains.
